Montessa 250 Trials bike (1973)
This is now stripped down to see what
is needed in the way of spare parts . The engine is all apart and i
have purchased new bearings throughout . The engine needs a lot of
love and care as is has had some poor maintenance in the past. The
frame will be painted in the new year and the wheels will have a new
set of bearings fitted. The body work needs repairing and painting
then assembly.
This should be ready for winter
2008 for a bit of trials riding.
2008 season
This coming season will depend how
far i can get with my Konig. Hopefully i should get it finished by
mid season so we can take it racing. Once i get it finished we will
have to take it to an airfield and just see how it steers and
brakes. I have altered the cooling system so i am not quite sure if
we have enough cooling with the size of the radiator, header tank
and water sump. We will have to run it carefully monitoring the
water temperature and also the temperature sensors that i will be
fitting to each cylinder head.
Once we get the outfit running ok and
reliable we will be entering for some racing.
I intend to take both my Yamahas
(250L& U) to a track day or practice day just to see how i get
on ridding them and might even race one this year.
The Greeves will not see the race
track this year but i will try to finish building it.
I will be going to Spa this year for
a ride round probably on one of my Yamahas.
