Since 2012 we started to
make progress with some of our projects.
Our main project which is a Konig
sidecar is now waiting to have the new engine fitted. The original
engine which we had is now fitted with 4 new liners and ready to
have the engine built. We have a new crank, pistons bearings, new
disk valve and a new ignition. This engine will be the one
that is fitted to the sidecar. We will be running standard
compression and squish clearances along with a 48 mm twin choke weber carb.
We need to take this to the dyno and get some
figures so we have a base setting to work from.
The new
engine cases are now half machined. They still need the crank
bores machining and the cylinder bores machining. We will then have
to fettle the ports in the cylinders before the bores can be nikosiled.
We will
use the old engine to get the outfit sorted out and then see about
swapping engines or the alternative is to put the new engine in a
solo chassis which I am having built and test it in the solo. The
solo will take some time as we need to spend quite a lot of money
on it for new drum brakes, gearbox etc. The sidecar is the main
focus again for this year as I need to get on the track before my
passenger looses interest.
The two TZ racers
we have are still in Manchester and might see a track
day if I can get organised.
The Moto Guzzi Le Mans mk 3 has again been on the road this year
and I have covered about eight hundred and fifty miles which is
less than the previous year but hopefully we will try and do more
this year. I fitted a new steering damper to it and a mirror that
fits in the end of the clip on. The mirror is one of the best
things I have bought for a long time..
The Honda cl 450 is finished and needs an M.O.T. so
I can apply
for a log book .
I always have spares available
and can offer various services to fellow enthusiasts (engine
rebuilds, crank rebuilds, barrels ported, complete bikes altered to
race spec). Maybe I
can help with your project or racer, please feel free to e-mail me
if you need any help as if I cannot help I will probably know
someone who can.
